- The MA866 is a rugged, portable digital refractometer designed for sodium chloride (NaCl) measurement. The MA866 displays NaCl concentration refractive index in four different units of measure: g/100 g, g/100 mL, specific gravity, and °Baume. The instrument’s high accuracy and simple operation gives reliable results each and every time.
- All readings are automatically compensated for temperature variations and displayed with a 1.5 second response time.
- The sealed flint glass prism and stainless steel well are easy to clean. Just wipe with a soft cloth in preparation for the next sample.
- Note: The MA886 is a digital refractometer that measures the refractive index of a solution then reports it as if the solution contains only NaCl. Any solution placed on the prism, regardless of content, will be displayed as %NaCl whether the solution contains it or not. Refractometery is not a qualitative measurement in which it distinguishes a specific component in a solution that contians other substances.
